Dollar, euro gain against ruble

MOSCOW. June 14 (Interfax) - The dollar and euro are both gaining against the ruble in early trading on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) Tuesday.

The ruble is weakening against the bi-currency basket as tension mounts in the world capital markets following the Spain rating downgrade.

The dollar opened trade at 32.52 rubles/$1, up 7 kopecks from yesterday's closing but 21 below the official exchange rate. This is the first time in three trading sessions that the dollar has fallen below 31 rubles.

The euro began the day at 40.93 rubles/EUR1, 15 kopecks above yesterday's closing and roughly level with the official exchange rate.

The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) started the day at 36.3 rubles, or 10 kopecks above yesterday's closing value.
