UTair planes carry 45% more passengers in 5M

KHANTY-MANSIISK. June 14 (Interfax) - UTair carried 3.074 million passengers on fixed-wing aircraft in January-May, 44.9% more than in the same period of last year, the airline said on its website.

Passenger traffic rose 52% to 5.744 billion passenger-km.

Fixed-wing aircraft carried 10,206 tonnes of cargo, up 56.4% year-on-year, and 1,853 tonnes of mail, down 4.2%.

Utair has more than 200 fixed-wing aircraft in its fleet and over 340 helicopters. The helicopters carried 287,717 passengers in the 5M, 26.1% fewer than a year previously, and 42,329 tonnes of freight, down 1.8%. They flew for 56,319 hours, up 28%.

UTair Group includes the Russia-based UTair Airline and UTair-Express, as well as UTair-Ukraine, UTair-Cargo, Turukhan, OJSC Nefteyugansky, Vostok, Peru-based Helisur, UTair Europe (Slovakia), UTair South Africa, and UTair India.
