Azerbaijani oil refinery output down 4.7% in 5M
BAKU. June 14 (Interfax) - Oil refineries in Azerbaijan saw total output drop 4.7% year-on-year in the first five months of this year, the country's State Statistics Committee told Interfax.
Output of straight-run gasoline was down 21.4% at 83,400 tonnes, that of diesel fuel 9.8% at 911,800 tonnes, and of lubricants 14% at 30,200 tonnes.
On the other hand, output of automotive gasoline was up 1.7% at 496,100 tonnes, that of kerosene 4.8% at 261,500 tonnes, and of petroleum bitumen 24.6% at 110,800 tonnes.
There are two operating oil refineries in Azerbaijan - Azerneftyag and the Heydar Aliyev refinery in Baku. These have combined processing capacity of 22 million tonnes per year, and both are part of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR).
