MOSCOW. June 14. (Interfax) - Inflation in Russia for the week of June 5 to June 9 was 0.1%, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported on Thursday.

Inflation was also 0.1% the week before, on May 29 to June 4, and it was 0.2% on May 22 to May 28. For the last 30 weeks, prices have risen 0.1% during 26, and only for the other three was inflation 0.2%. It was zero for one of those weeks.

Since the beginning of June, inflation has been running at 0.2%, and year-to-date - 2.5% (0.1% and 4.8% for the same periods of last year).

Rosstat figures show that annual inflation by June 9 rose to 3.7%, compared to 3.6% by the end of May (6.1% by the end of December).

Prices for chicken were up 0.3%, and those for wheat flour, rye bread and salt grew by 0.2%.

Prices for fruits and vegetables grew 4.2%, including 9.9% for onions and 5.2%-5.9% for potatoes, carrots and cabbage.

Automobile gasoline and diesel fuel prices remained unchanged.

For June, the Economic Development Ministry expects inflation at 0.5%-0.6% due to growing vegetable prices, and it forecasts inflation at over 1% in July due to tariff indexation.

"Since tariffs will be raised in July, there will probably be a jump of over 1% or maybe even more. For June, it could probably be 0.5%-0.6% because of the effect of devaluation, but it will have an effect later, and there is the quite strong effect of growing vegetable prices," Deputy Economic Development Minister Andrei Klepach told journalists on Saturday.

Inflation stood at 0.2% in June of last year, and it was zero in July of last year. This is why, according to the Economic Development Ministry's forecast, annual inflation could reach 5% by the end of July and even surpass that level.
