Dollar and euro closes Friday's trades with slight losses
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro posted minor losses on the MICEX on Friday as the Russian ruble increased against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at 0.45 euro and $0.55) owing to positive trends on the stock market and increasing oil prices as investors hope for new stimulus measures from leading central banks.
The dollar went down by 9.25 kopecks to close at 32.505 rubles/$1 on the MICEX while the euro slipped 1.1 kopecks to 41.39 rubles/EUR1. The bi-currency basket decreased by five kopecks to 36.35 rubles/
The dollar's average weighted exchange rate on MICEX went down 14.81 kopecks to 32.4168 rubles/$1 in Today deals and 11.71 kopecks to 32.461 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow deals. Combined dollar trading on MICEX amounted to $6.082 billion; of which $1.657 billion were Today deals and $4.4248 billion were Tomorrow deals.
The euro's average weighted rate went up 1.33 kopecks to 40.9377 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and 1.98 kopecks to 40.9664 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow deals. Combined euro trading amounted to 449.2 million euro, of which 232.8 million euro were Today deals and 216.4 million euro were Tomorrow deals.
The overnight MosPrime went up by 28 basis points to 6.73%.
