Putin approves CSTO cooperation agreement extending weapons' service, disposal
MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill, "On ratifying the cooperation agreement between the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, regarding the design, production, operation, maintenance, upgrade and extended service and disposal deadlines for defense products," according to the Kremlin website.
The federal bill was passed by the State Duma on May 25, 2012, and approved by the Federation Council on June 6, 2012.
The CSTO cooperation agreement was signed in Moscow on December 10, 2010.
Under the agreement, defense products will be supplied under contracts on the basis of approved bilateral lists of customers and suppliers of defense products from among the participants of military-economic cooperation, as well as the nomenclature and quantities of the products supplied.
The lists will be formed and defense products supplied upon agreement between the parties' authorized agencies.
Under the agreement, defense products will be moved across the parties' customs border in accordance with the national laws of either party and on the basis of extracts from the approved lists of products supplied, issued by the parties' authorized agencies.
