EU: oil embargo on Iran to take effect on July 1

MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - The EU confirms its intention to impose an oil embargo on Iran beginning July 1.

Michael Mann, spokesman for the EU foreign policy chief, said the oil embargo on Iran will become effective on July 1.

Mann reiterated that the issue of lifting sanctions from Iran is currently not being discussed in Europe, adding that the EU has always adhered to the principle mutuality.
