June 18 proposals by Iran detailed versions of Baghdad ideas - official

MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - Proposals put by Iran before the five permanent member countries of the UN Security Council and Germany during Monday's talks in Moscow were detailed versions of initiatives aired during the previous round of talks in Baghdad, said Ali Bagheri, deputy head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.

The proposals were based on agreements reached during negotiations in Istanbul and Geneva and were unveiled in Baghdad, Bagheri told reporters in Moscow.

He said the proposals were comprised of five elements, contained a suggested structure for the negotiation process and set out moves that each side would have to take.

All those proposed moves were interconnected and none could be made in isolation from the rest, Bagheri said.

He said there were two rounds of talks on Monday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. He described the talks as lengthy and detailed.
