Russian SSJ100 plane that crashed in Indonesia had no technical problems - UAC head

ST. PETERSBURG. June 21 (Interfax) - The Russian-designed Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ100) passenger airplane, which crashed during a demonstration flight in Indonesia in May, had no technical problems, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) head Mikhail Pogosyan said.

"The information available today allows us to say that there were no technical malfunctions on board the plane," he told journalists at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Indonesian and Russian specialists are currently decoding information from the plane's flight data recorders.

The SSJ100 aircraft, carrying 45 people, among them eight Russians, crashed into the slopes of Mount Salak as it maneuvered presumably to avoid storm clouds.
