Cooperation with intl companies to help boost oil production in Russia - Sechin

ST. PETERSBURG. June 21. (Interfax) - Executive secretary of the presidential commission on the fuel and energy complex and president of Rosneft Igor Sechin associates the prospects for increasing hydrocarbon development in Russia with an expansion in cooperation with international companies.

"We are open to proposals and to expanding cooperation with international companies. It is precisely such cooperation that we associate with the possibility of further increasing oil production in Russia, first and foremost at shelf fields," he said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Oil production in new areas will provide for 5% of Russian liquid hydrocarbon production in 2020. "By 2030, new fields will provide for almost 40% of overall oil production in the country," Sechin said.

As reported, Rosneft has struck an agreement on strategic partnership and shelf development with such global companies as ExxonMobil, Statoil and Eni.
