Rosneft and GE to cooperate in power equipment

ST. PETERSBURG. June 21 (Interfax) - Rosneft , which has signed an agreement for strategic partnership with U.S. company ExxonMobil, has also reached an agreement for cooperation with U.S. company General Electric (GE). The agreement largely concerns the delivery of power equipment, the companies said in their materials.

The materials said that the agreement calls for the implementation of joint ventures in design, development and manufacture of equipment, as well as estimates for the potential creation of technologies and equipment for the development of coastal fields in the Arctic.

In the framework of partnership, an agreement was also signed for GE Energy Products France to deliver five 6FA high-efficiency gas-turbine units with minimum emissions to combined heat and power plant CJSC VNHK, a major Rosneft project in the Primorsk Territory.

Rosneft and ExxonMobil will cooperate, for example, in the development of offshore sections in the Arctic, as well as difficult deposit beds in Western Siberia.
