KYIV. June 25 (Interfax) - UkrSibbank (Kharkiv, BNP Paribas group) increased charter capital 18% to UAH 8.87 billion through an additional issue of UAH 1.36 billion (around $170 million) in shares.
The bank said in a press release that changes to its charter capital, made through the additional issue, had been registered.
The bank carried out a private placement of the additional shares, which were purchased by shareholders - BNP Paribas and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in proportion to their existing shares in the charter capital, the release said.
BNP Paribas S.A (France) owns 84.9995% of the Ukrainian bank's charter capital and the EBRD owns 15%.
UkrSibbank was established in 1990. The National Bank of Ukraine ranked it number 9 by assets among Ukraine's 174 banks as of April 1 2012.
The official exchange rate on June 25 stood at UAH 7.9925/$1.
