Former IDGC Holding deputy chief appointed Deputy Energy Minister
MOSCOW. June 26. (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has appointed former Deputy General Director of OJSC IDGC Holding Mikhail Kurbatov as Deputy Energy Minister, the government said in a press release.
Kurbatov will oversee energy issues at the ministry.
The Energy Ministry is undergoing structural and personnel changes. In May, Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko was replaced by former Deputy Finance Minister Alexander Novak. Deputy Energy Ministers Dan Belenky and Andrei Shishkin (the latter oversaw energy industry regulation) have already resigned.
In addition, Deputy Energy Minister Sergei Kudryashov, who supervises oil and gas issues, will soon leave his post. Director of the ministry's oil and gas refining department Pyotr Degtyarev has also already signed his letter of resignation.
