Saakashvili to present new Georgian govt to parliament
TBILISI. July 2 (Interfax) - Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will present Georgia's new Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili and the new Cabinet of Ministers to the parliament for approval on Tuesday, the government's secretary in the parliament Giya Khuroshvili said on Monday.
The parliament will call an extraordinary session and approve the composition of the government within a week, he said.
According to the Georgian media, the new interior minister will be incumbent Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaya, who will be replaced as defense minister by incumbent Georgian National Security Council Secretary Giga Bokeriya.
