Reserve Fund up 31.57 bln rubles, National Welfare Fund 36.67 bln rubles in June - MinFin
MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - Russia's Reserve Fund stood at 1.985 trillion rubles on July 1, 2012 ($60.5 billion) while the National Welfare Fund (NWF) came to 2.81045 trillion rubles ($85.64 billion), the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
The Reserve Fund came to 1.95388 trillion rubles ($60.21 billion) on June 1, 2012 while the National Welfare Fund stood at 2.77378 trillion rubles ($85.48 billion), so the Reserve Fund increased by 31.57 billion rubles in June while the National Welfare Fund expanded by 36.67 billion rubles.
In dollar equivalent, the Reserve Fund grew by $290 million, and the NWF by $160 million.
Reserve Fund accounts contained $27.42 billion, EUR21.45 billion and GBP3.88 billion as of July 1.
The total estimated amount of revenue from placement of Reserve Fund assets in foreign currency accounts at the Central Bank, in the U.S. dollar equivalent, was $0.22 billion, or the equivalent of 7.2 billion rubles, in the period from January 15 to June 30, 2012. The exchange rate difference on revaluation of balances on these accounts from January 1 to June 30, 2012 was positive 83.56 billion rubles.
NWF accounts with the Central Bank contained $27.66 billion, EUR24.15 billion and GBP4.39 billion as of July 1. Another 474.02 billion rubles and $6.25 billion had been deposited with Vnesheconombank (VEB).
The total estimated amount of revenue from placement of NWF assets in foreign currency accounts at the Central Bank, in the U.S. dollar equivalent, was $0.26 billion, or the equivalent of 8.65 billion rubles, in the period from January 15 to June 30, 2012. The exchange rate difference on revaluation of balances on these accounts from January 1 to April 30, 2012 was minus 16.01 billion rubles. The exchange rate difference on revaluation of NWF dollar deposits at VEB was 3.88 billion rubles.
