Ukrainian steel majors cut roll output in H1
KYIV. July 3 (Interfax) - Most Ukrainian steel majors reduced finished roll production in January-June.
ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih (formerly Kryvorizhstal), the country's biggest steel mill, raised roll production tentatively 11.3% year-on-year to 2.626 million tonnes, the company told Interfax.
But Azovstal said it reduced roll output 21.8% year-on-year to 2.203 million tonnes, Zaporizhstal reduced it 2.8% to 1.545 million tonnes and the Ilich works from Mariupol reduced it 6.4% to 2.27 million tonnes.
The Alchevsk Iron & Steel Works, a member of the Industrial Union of Donbass (IUD) group, cut roll output 9% year-on-year to 1.711 million tonnes, while IUD's Dzerzhinsky mill boosted it 9.1% to 1.663 million tonnes.

Ukraine's steel industry produced 14.962 million tonnes of finished roll in January-June, 7% less year-on-year, a government source has told Interfax. Crude steel production fell 3% to 16.939 million tonnes, but pig iron production rose, by 2% to 14.521 million tonnes.
