RZD to provide Freight Two with 7,100 more railcars purchased through leasing agreements

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - OJSC Russian Railways (RZD) plans to inject almost 7,100 additional gondola railcars this year into the charter capital of its subsidiary, OJSC Freight Two Company. These railcars were purchased according to leasing agreements in September-December 2011, RZD said in its annual reporting.

It was earlier reported that, in efforts to develop Freight Two's charter capital, which reached completion in autumn 2011, RZD transferred 151,300 freight railcars worth a combined 46.2 billion rubles to the operator. Including around 23,700 railcars subleased from RZD, Freight Two held 174,640 railcars at the end of 2011.

It was also earlier reported that Freight Two plans to acquire 15,500 railcars (gondola cars, tankers, closed railcars and platforms) this year. The operator is ready to earmark around 35 billion rubles for this with the total investment program at 50 billion rubles. The company's fleet this spring had 135,000 gondola cars, 25,000 closed railcars, and around 11,000 platforms. The operator acquired 1,750 gondola cars in 2011.

Freight Two Company was formed during the reform of Russia's railway sector and is a 100%-owned subsidiary of RZD.
