Dollar and euro post major losses on MICEX as world prices for oil increase

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro posted major losses against the Russian ruble on the MICEX on Tuesday owing to an increase in world prices for oil. The value of the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at 0.45 euro and $0.55) decreased by 44 kopecks to 35.93 rubles.

The dollar went down by 44.97 kopecks to finish at 32.15 rubles/$1 on the MICEX while the euro decreased 43.75 kopecks to close at 40.54 rubles/EUR1.
