BP representative elected chairman of TNK-BP Holding board of directors
MOSCOW. July 6. (Interfax) - Vice President for Refining and Marketing at BP Exploration Operating Company Limited, David Brian Skidmore, has been elected chairman of the board of directors of TNK-BP Holding (TBH), the company said in a statement.
TBH's board of directors made this decision at a meeting on Thursday.
In February, Director for Legal Affairs at Renova, Igor Cheremikin, a representative of the Alfa-Access-Renova (AAR) consortium - the Russian shareholder in TNK-BP - took over as chairman of the board of directors. Cheremikin replaced BP representative Richard Scott Sloan, who TBH's minority shareholders took to court, alleging that he had violated TNK-BP's shareholders' agreement. According to that agreement, the chairman of TBH's board of directors must be alternately from BP and AAR.
After TBH's shareholders made this decision during their annual general meeting, Sloan resigned from the board. Another defendant in the judicial proceedings, Peter Anthony Charow, is still on TBH's board.
TBH, a subsidiary of TNK-BP International Limited (TNK-BP, which is equally owned by AAR and BP), was founded in 2005 as a holding company and operating business for TNK-BP in Russia.
TBH does not include stakes in Slavneft, joint ventures in Venezuela, several exploration assets in Yamal, and TNK-BP's Ukrainian business, including the LINIK oil refinery and a retail chain.
At present, TBH's board of directors is comprised of Anatoly Akimenko, Jacky Baudon, John Murphy Brame, Pavel Nazaryan, Renee Denis Robin, David Brian Skidmore, Igor Cheremikin, Peter Anthony Charow and Denis Shumilin.
