Communist deputy Bessonov stripped of parliamentary immunity
MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax) -The State Duma agreed on Friday to revoke the immunity of a deputy for the Russian Communist Party, Vladimir Bessonov, for the purpose of a criminal inquiry into his alleged assault on police officers half a year ago.
The Duma deputies thus granted the request lodged by the Russian prosecutor general a week ago. The revocation of Bessonov's immunity was favored by 281 deputies, opposed by 158.
