Russian Knights flight to Farnborough Airshow canceled - source
MOSCOW. July 7 (Interfax) - The Russian aerobatic team, Russian Knights, will not be taking part in flight demonstration at the Farnborough International Airshow 2012 in the United Kingdom, a military diplomatic source told Interfax-AVN.
"The flight of Russian Knights to Great Britain has been cancelled because the necessary licensing documentation was not prepared in due time," the source said.
A departure of a military aircraft abroad is requested by the Defense Ministry, following which the government issues a relevant order, the source said. The government's order is then received by the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS), which issues a license allowing military aircraft demonstration abroad.
"So far the FSVTS has not received any documents on the flight of Russian Knights to the Farnborough Airshow," the source said.
