Protocol on Russia's accession to WTO doesn't threaten constitutional system - Constitutional Court

ST. PETERSBURG. July 9 (Interfax) - The Russian Constitutional Court does not think that the World Trade Organization founding agreement or protocol on Russia's accession restrict the rights of Russian citizens.

"Neither the Marrakech agreement [on the establishment of WTO], nor the protocol imply the introduction of restrictions of the rights or liberties of citizens of Russia or a revision of the foundations of its constitutional system," a court judgment announced on Monday says.

It notes that accession to WTO will mean introduction to the international legal field and "access to means of international legal protection" to Russia.
