Sollers Group increases car sales 23% in H1

MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - Sollers Group , one of Russia's leading carmakers, increased car sales (UAZ, SsangYong and Isuzu) by 23% year-on-year to 46,846 units in January-June 2012, the group said.

Sales of SsangYong vehicles increased by 63% to 14,877 units compared to 9,107 units in the first half of 2011. Sales of UAZ offroaders increased by 14% to 31,647 units, including 3,725 units for export.

The group's sales of Isuzu trucks came to 322 units in January-June 2012.

Sollers, formerly Severstal-Auto, manages the Ulyanovsk Automotive Plant, Zavolzhsky Motor Plant , Sollers-Naberezhniye Chelny, Sollers-Elabuga and Sollers-Far East. Sollers produces UAZ, Fiat, Isuzu and SsangYong models in Russia. The company has joint ventures with Mazda and Toyota.

The group increased car sales by 25% to 115,765 units in 2011.
