Gazprom makes no mention of Caspian Pipeline in its materials
MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - Information on the Caspian Gas Pipeline, which Gazprom hoped would help curtail resources from alternative routes for Turkmen gas to Europe (the Trans-Caspian Pipeline) and China, has disappeared from the Russian gas giant's materials.
The new memorandum for Gazprom's Eurobonds does not include a single mention about this pipeline initiative. It is also not mentioned in the company's statistical publication, "Gazprom in Figures", which was released a month ago.
An intergovernmental agreement for the pipeline was signed in 2007. In September 2008, OJSC Gazprom, OJSC KazMunaiGaz and Turkmengaz Group, signed an agreement for the main principles of partnership in the Caspian Pipeline's construction, as well as the orders for the coordinating committee and the project's management group. The main goals for the pipeline project's feasibility study were approved along with its master data, "Gazprom in Figures" earlier said. However, the Russian company said in a memorandum in November 2011 that "construction of the pipeline still has not commenced."
