Putin to meet with Raul Castro on July 11 - Kremlin
MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with President of Cuba's State Council and Council of Ministers Raul Castro on July 11, the Kremlin press service reported on Tuesday.
Castro is due to pay a working visit to Russia from July 10 to July 12.
"This meeting will come as a follow-up to bilateral contacts at the highest level. It will be the third meeting for both leaders, who previously met in Havana in December 2000 and in Moscow in February 2009," the press service said.
Cuba is one of Russia's oldest friends and partners in Latin America.
On July 6, 2012, the two countries, which have strategic cooperation, marked the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, it said.
Key topics on the agenda of the upcoming Russian-Cuban talks will include ways to further promote trade, business and investment cooperation between the two countries, increase and diversify their bilateral trade, as well as projects in the energy sector, transport and telecommunications.
