President to meet with Duma factions' representatives next week
MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold his first meeting with Duma factions' leaders since his inauguration next week, the Izvestiya newspaper said on its website.
"The event is due to be held in an entirely new format, with three and not two representatives from every parliamentary faction being invited to talk to the president," the newspaper said, citing a Kremlin source.
The date of the meeting has yet to be confirmed, but parliamentarians have already been told unofficially that "the candid talk" is planned for July 18, Izvestiya said.
Initially Putin was expected to talk to parliamentary leaders on July 9, but the event was postponed. The presidential administration deemed it more logical to hold the meeting with faction leaders after the spring session ends on July 13, the newspaper's source said.
