Putin to meet Annan in Moscow on July 17

MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - The meeting of President Vladimir Putin with UN/Arab League envoy for Syria Kofi Annan who will be visiting Russia on July 16-17 will take place in Moscow on Tuesday, the Kremlin press service reports.

"During the upcoming meeting Russia plans to once again confirm its support for Annan's peace plan of the political and diplomatic settlement of the crisis in Syria. The Russian side proceeds from the belief that the plan is the only viable platform for resolving Syrian domestic problems," the report says.

It notes that it will be the second visit of the envoy to Moscow in four months.
