VVA-Podmoscovie is fifth-time winner of European 7's Champions Trophy

MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - Russia's VVA-Podmoscovie won the European Rugby 7's Champions Trophy for the fifth time on Sunday.

The Cup final between VVA-Podmoscovie and Agrouniversity (Kazan, Russia) was easy to predict with Moscow region 'fliers' beating young Kazan team 42-5.

Two other Russian teams, Enisei-STM and Krasny Yar (both Krasnoyarsk), played the third-place game. Enisei-STM was unable to beat Krasny Yar (5-24) that took the third place.

The Plate final saw a battle between Moscow's Slava-CSP and Germany's Heidelberg. Slava-CSP jumped into the tournament just a few days before it after Azerbaijan's RC Baku had refused to come to Moscow. Germans failed to beat Muscovites (10-21), so the Russian teams took the first five places.

The seventh-place game was between Ukraine's Olimp and Lithuania's Vairas, and Ukraine won it 31-10.

The Bowl final between Lechia Gdansk (Poland) and UTM (Moldova) did not take place for technical reasons. UTM replaced RC Chisinau at the decision of the Moldovan Rugby Federation a few days before the tournament.

RC Geneva (Switzerland) and RC Miesnieki (Latvia) played for 11th place, with the consolation prize (Spoon) going to the RC Geneva that lost the game 10-31.
