Geneva partners' ability to negotiate agreements on Syria questionable - Lavrov

MOSCOW. July 16 (Interfax) - The Russian partners' conduct after the Geneva meeting on Syria suggests that it will be difficult to negotiate agreements with them, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Soon after the Geneva meeting was held, some Western countries interpreted the results of the talks in the sense that they are opening the door on sanctions against Syria, he said.

"Our partners were either insincere in Geneva, or incapable of negotiating agreements," Lavrov said at a news conference in Moscow on Monday.
