Scartel launches LTE in Vladivostok'

MOSCOW. July 17 (Interfax) - LLC Scartel, which operates under the Yota brand, launched an LTE network in Vladivostok, its sixth in Russia so far, on July 17, the company said in a statement.

"Yota aims to become the leading mobile 4G LTE internet provider in the city," which has a population of 630,000, the company said.

It spent $6.5 million in thee months building the infrastructure. There are so far 100 base stations.

Scartel has already launched LTE networks in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Sochi and Samara. It plans to launch networks in Ufa on July 29 and in St Petersburg on August 19.
