Krymsk will be protected against new destructive floods - governor
KRYMSK. July 18 (Interfax) - Governor of Krasnodar territory Alexander Tkachyov at a Wednesday meeting with the residents of Krymsk spoke of measures that are meant to prevent the repetition of destructive floods.
"In order to prevent similar flood we suggest assigning 1 billion rubles for clearing and deepening to 3 meters the Adagum river flowing across Krymsk," he said on Wednesday.
The project would imply the replacement of old bridges by new ones built applying new technologies, he said.
Tkachyov said that relevant Russian research centers have been instructed to make plans of building an up to 8-meter dam along the river embankment.
"The price tag on the issue is 3-4 billion rubles," the governor said.
