MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - The attack against Tatarstan Mufti Ildus Faizov was qualified by investigators additionally as a terrorist attack.

"Investigators in Tatarstan probing the murder of Tatarstan Deputy Mufti Valiulla Yakupov and the attempted murder of Mufti Ildus Faizov have opened criminal cases under Articles 30 and 105 of the Russian Penal Code (murder and attempted murder, respectively), which were merged into one case," Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax.

"The actions of the unidentified persons who blew up the vehicle, as a result of which the mufti sustained bodily injuries, have additionally been qualified under Article 205 of the Russian Penal Code (terror attack)," he said.
