Tatarstan mufti's assailants will be found and punished - Putin
MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Puint has promised that those who attacked the mufti of Tatarstan and killed his deputy will not escape punishment.
"I've just talked to the FSB [Federal Security Service] director. The law enforcement bodies will do everything to find, expose and punish the criminals. I am sure that this will inevitably happen," he said.
The Kazan attacks are "one more reminder that the situation in our country is far from ideal", Putin remarked.
"Together with you and all the political forces that want to strengthen the unity of the Russian state, to ensure order that would enable people to live and raise their children calmly and the economy to develop - we all should most carefully analyze the situation in our country, and while making decisions, we should always think about the wellbeing of the people", Putin said.
He stressed that people's concerns should prevail over corporate and party interests.
