ST. PETERSBURG. July 21 (Interfax) - Seventy-four people have been charged under St. Petersburg's law that bans propaganda of pedophilia and homosexuality among minors since the law came into force recently, said the police chief of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

"I'm satisfied with the performance of our personnel in this matter," Sergei Umnov told a briefing.

He promised that the police force he heads would seek more effective enforcement of this law.
