Two injured in small plane crash in Moscow region
MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) - Two people have been hospitalized after a small airplane crash landed in the Moscow region.
"At around 7 p.m. we received a report that an L-410 airplane crash landed land near the Bolshoye Gryzlovo airfield while trying to land in the Serpukhovo district," said Darya Korovina, spokeswoman for the Central Regional Center of the Emergencies Situations Ministry.
Two people who were onboard survived and have been hospitalized, she said.
It is believed the plane's landing gear has broken during landing.
Local emergency teams are working at the scene.
The incident occurred within 40 kilometers from Serpukhovo, according to the Emergency Situations Ministry's Main Directorate for the Moscow Region. The two people who were on board have been hospitalized with head injuries in the town of Pushchino.
One of the victims is due to undergo a surgery, the emergency authorities said.
This is a third accident involving a small plane that occurred in Russia on Sunday.
Earlier a small airplane crashed near the town of Lipetsk. The Yakovlev Yak-18 was en route from Kamenka to Lipetskoye. The plane carried four people, three of them were injured and hospitalized, a source from regional traffic control authorities told Interfax.
At around 3 p.m. the law enforcement authorities received a report that a Yak-18T aircraft landed on a takeoff and landing area near the Safari Park in the village of Kamenka in the Zadonsk district, Lipetsk region, the Russian Investigative Committee said later. The landing gear got into a hole on the takeoff and landing area, causing the plane to overturn.
The second air crash occurred in the Ryazan region.
The debris of a charred Ilyushin Il-103 airplane were found 25 kilometers east of the city of Ryazan on Sunday, a source from the regional air traffic control authorities told Interfax. Three bodies were found at the crash scene.
It is believed the privately-owned aircraft was en route from Krutitsyno to Shilovo. However, it was flying without signal, illegally and its flight was not sanctioned, the source said.
