Dollar, euro skyrocket amid deteriorating global markets on Monday

MOSCOW. July 23. (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and the euro jumped against the ruble on the MICEX on Monday as global capital market conditions worsened due to fears of a collapsing eurozone and poor U.S. statistics.

By the end of the day, the dollar stood at 32.72 rubles/$1, shooting up 68.01 kopecks over Friday's close. The euro finished out the day at 39.61 rubles/EUR1, up 62.25 kopecks.

The bi-currency basket skyrocketed 65 kopecks to 35.82 rubles.
