RTS Index goes below 1,300 points

MOSCOW. July 25 (Interfax) - The RTS Index went below 1,300 points (its lowest point since June 28) at the start of trades on Wednesday morning following the decline on world exchanges because of worries surrounding Eurozone stability.

By 10:12 am Moscow time, the RTS had decreased by 1.4% to 1,296.21 points while the MICEX Index had declined by 0.6% to 1,357.37 points (also its lowest point since the end of June). Ruble-based blue chips on the MICEX-RTS exchange fell within 1.5%.

Markets fell in the U.S. on Tuesday, followed by decline on Asian markets and American futures on Wednesday (contracts on the S&P 500 declined 0.03%). In addition, oil prices have been declining.

The value of September futures for WTI oil came to $87.96 per barrel by 10:12 am Moscow time (down 0.6%). Futures for Brent oil came to $102.9 per barrel (down 0.5%).
