Russia concerned about situation surrounding MTS subsidiary in Uzbekistan

MOSCOW. July 25 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed concern about the situation surrounding the Mobile TeleSystems 's subsidiary in Uzbekistan.

"The situation has aroused an acute reaction in the Russian public," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

"We have officially informed the Uzbek side of our concerns about the decision to put this subsidiary's general director, Russian citizen Radik Dautov, into custody, which seems to be a rather severe sanction," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
