Ukraine to harvest 46-47 mln tonnes of grain in 2012 - Azarov

KYIV. July 26 (Interfax) - The grain harvest in Ukraine in 2012 will amount to 46-47 million tonnes, forecasts Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

"And what harvest will we reap this year? A good harvest, [though] certainly less than last year's - around 46-47 million tonnes of grain," the premier said during the official opening of a transit terminal of Nibulon (the village of Chyrske, Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky district, Kyiv region) on Thursday.

According to the prime minister, the amount of grain is enough to provide the country with grain, export it, and provide farmers with funds for development.

As reported, the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine forecast the grain harvest this year at 45.3 million tonnes, against 56.7 million tonnes last year.
