Norilsk Nickel increases nickel output 7% to 145,500 tonnes in H1

MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax) - OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel produced 145,463 tonnes of nickel in the first half of 2012, up 7% year-on-year, the company said on Monday.

Nickel production in the second quarter came to 69,639 tonnes, down 8% from the first quarter. The company said that the main reason for this decrease had been insufficient raw material supply from producers for its nickel refining plant in Finland.
