Navalny charged with arranging KirovLes property embezzlement - Russian investigators

MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax) - Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny faces charges of arranging property embezzlement in the KirovLes state owned timber company, Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax.

"Navalny has been charged with crimes based on Articles 33 and 160 of the Russian Penal Code [organization of large-scale embezzlement of assets]," he said.

Navalny was ordered not to leave Moscow, Markin said.

Another two KirovLes case suspects - Pyotr Ofitserov and Vyacheslav Opalev - will be charged soon, Markin said.
