Norilsk Nickel to put 5 bln rubles into building ventilation shaft at Taimyr mine

MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax) - OJSC Norilsk Nickel will be investing 5 billion rubles in the construction of ventilation shaft #7 at the Taimyr mine, a company statement says.

"Implementation of [this] project will enable the company to maintain [the] production capacity of [the] Taimyr mine with regards to rich ore. Additional increase of the mine's rich ore reserves will total 8 million tonnes," the company said.

Plans are for all the building and installation to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year. "Ventilation shaft #7 of Taimyr [the] mine, upon completion, will be 1865 meters deep - the deepest in Eurasia," Norilsk Nickel said.
