Two police officers injured in Derbent explosion
MAKHACHKALA.Aug 1 (Interfax) - An improvised explosive device (IED) went off on the crossing of Sovietskaya and Makhachkalinskaya streets in Derbent on Wednesday, leaving two police officers with minor injuries, the Dagestan Interior Ministry told Interfax.
The IED was planted in a trash container and went off at around 4:05 p.m. Moscow time, the source said.
"Two policemen from a squad on duty nearby have sustained injuries that are not dangerous. A team of investigators is working at the scene," the spokesperson said.
