EurAsEC states to synchronize their national telemedicine systems

ASTANA. Aug 2 (Interfax) - The member countries of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) will synchronize their national telemedicine systems, Kazakhstan's Healthcare Development Center said in a press release on Thursday.

"Plans were announced to synchronize the national telemedicine systems within EurAsEC. Such a decision was reached at a session of the working group within the Healthcare Council of the EurAsEC Integration Committee in Astana. The participants in the meeting unanimously approved the draft agreement, which will be included in the agenda of the 13th session of the EurAsEC Healthcare Council," it said.

This document will allow the sides to adopt interstate and national regulatory and legal acts that will enable them to synchronize their national telemedicine systems for the benefit of the population of these countries, the center said.

It will be Kazakhstan's first international regulatory and legal act dealing with telemedicine.

Kazakh healthcare institutions took advantage of telemedicine technologies to conduct some 8,000 consultations and more than 2,000 video conferences in the first six months of the year, the center said.
