Urengoi-Surgut condensate pipeline to increase annual capacity from 9.5 mln to 12 mln tonnes a year

MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - The Urengoi-Surgut condensate pipeline, which helps move oil and gas condensate mixture from the Urengoi condensate plant to the Surgut stabilization plant, will increase its capacity from 9.5 million tonnes to 12 million tonnes a year, Lengazspetstroy said in a press release.

Lengazspetstroy, a subsidiary of Stroygazmontazh, is the subcontractor on the construction of the pipeline's second branch.

The main stage for construction will be implemented over the 2012-2013 winter since a significant part of the pipeline will run through waterlogged and flooded areas. Later, construction might be implemented once the ground freezes. Lengazspetstroy will build half of the 80 kilometer pipeline at 720 mm diameter in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District.

Preparation of a rotational settlement in the Kogalyma district of the Surgut Region is now underway. Around 200 specialists will be sent to this settlement in the near future.

OJSC Gazprom is the investor in the project.
