Russian Armed Forces commanders promoted to higher ranks

MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has promoted Navy Commander Viktor Chirkov to the rank of admiral.

Strategic Rocket Forces Commander Sergei Karakayev and Aerospace Defense Forces Commander Oleg Ostapenko were promoted to the rank of colonel-general.

Air Force Commander Viktor Bondarev was promoted to the rank of lieutenant-general.
