Kazakhstan's industrial output up 1.3% in Jan-Jul

ALMATY. Aug 10 (Interfax) - Total industrial production in Kazakhstan increased by 1.3% year-on-year in January-July 2012, the country's state statistics agency said on Friday.

Output in the country's mining sector along with quarry operations went up by 0.7% while the manufacturing sector grew by 2.1%. Supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning increased by 5.4%. Water supply operations declined by 4.2%.

According to statistics, 10 Kazakh regions posted increases in production. Decreases in output were posted for the Akmola, West-Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Karaganda, Mangistau regions, as well as the city of Astana.
