Deputy VEB chief joins Sovcomflot board of directors
MOSCOW. Aug 13. (Interfax) - Mikhail Poluboyarinov, the deputy CEO of Russian state-owned corporation Vnesheconombank (VEB), has joined the board of directors of OJSC Sovcomflot (SCF) as an independent director.
According to a government order dated June 30, Poluboyarinov has replaced the head of Open Joint-Stock Insurance Company Ingosstrakh Alexander Grigoryev, who had occupied a seat on SCF's board since February of this year.
The leasing of sea and river vessels accounts for 8%-10% of VEB subsidiary VEB-Leasing's portfolio. Of the orders financed by the company, 12 vessels have already been built, including panamax in the Arctic for SCF.
SCF is Russia's largest shipping company, specializing in oil, petroleum products and liquefied gas handling. It is one of the world's largest tanker fleet operators and is wholly owned by the Russian government.
