Dollar almost static, euro up on Monday

MOSCOW. Aug 13. (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar was practically static on the MICEX on Monday, while the euro made moderate gains and the ruble edged down against the bi-currency basket due to deteriorating global capital markets.

The dollar finished out Monday's trade at 31.855 rubles/$1, up 2.75 kopecks over Friday's close.

The euro grew 14.59 rubles to 39.33 rubles/EUR1.

The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) stood at 35.22 rubles, up 8 kopecks over Friday.

The Central Bank lowered its official dollar rate for tomorrow by 2.67 kopecks to 31.8707 rubles/$1 and its euro rate 4.55 kopecks to 39.1468 rubles/EUR1.

The dollar averaged down 4.56 kopecks to 31.8462 rubles/$1 in Today deals on the MICEX and 11.44 kopecks to 31.7884 rubles/$1 in Tom deals. Overall trading volume was $5.308 billion, including $1.18 billion today and $4.127 billion Tom.

The euro was down 0.84 kopecks to 39.1462 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and 0.58 kopecks to 39.1615 rubles/EUR1 in Tom deals in volume of EUR514.14 million, including EUR303.311 million Today and EUR210.829 million Tom.

The MosPrime rate for overnight loans rose 62 basis points to 5.87% per annum.
