Fire burning in Sverdlovsk region nature reserve

YEKATERINBURG. Aug 16 (Interfax) - Firefighters are working to extinguish a blaze that erupted on the premises of the Visimsky Nature Reserve in Russia's Sverdlovsk region, the Forestry Department of the Urals Federal District said in a press release.

"The fire is burning on an area of one hectare. The information available on Thursday morning confirms that its area has not increased. Nature Reserve personnel, special purpose equipment and a [Mil] Mi-8 helicopter are combating the blaze," it said.

It is the first fire registered in the Visimsky Nature Reserve this year, it said.
